Dignitas performs research and development for Geospatially Integrated Cyber Information for Situational Awareness (GICSA) for United States Special Operations Command (SOCOM)

In a Phase II Small Business Innovation Research (SBIR) effort, Dignitas continues to perform research and development for Geospatially Integrated Cyber Information for Situational Awareness (GICSA) for United States Special Operations Command (SOCOM). This SBIR combines Dignitas' expertise in geospatial data processing and cyber training applications to provide an integrated solution to the warfighter. The goals of this effort are to conduct a feasibility study, determine use cases, develop a detailed system design, and develop a prototype system to integrate geo-located cyberspace data with current Special Operations Forces (SOF) battlespace information. This integration will enhance situational awareness (SA) for SOF operators within SOF mission command systems (MCS) to provide a unified common operational picture (COP).

Our Phase II work builds upon a flexible architecture that leverages microservices to accomplish the various functions necessary to integrate cyberspace information into a geospatial COP. Microservices were designed to aggregate cyberspace element data from various cyber sensors or other sources, classify and store the cyberspace data, and transform and deliver aggregated cyberspace data to SOF MCS/COP systems. Our team researched and designed a system that aggregates cyberspace information and fuses that information with the SOF COP. In our Phase II SBIR, we are developing and integrating a prototype system termed the CyberCOP, which will demonstrate the injection of publicly and privately sourced geo-located cyberspace elements into existing and emerging SOF MCS/COP systems.

GICSA will provide enhanced SA and operational effectiveness in a battlefield where the cyberspace domain is a critical element to thwarting threat operations and enabling information advantage for the SOF team.
