Posted on May 5, 2015
Dignitas was awarded the Augmented Reality Sandtable contract in order to meet the Army’s goals for training modernization outlined in the Army Learning Concept for 2015, immersive environments for problem-focused scenario-based training. This contract was awarded to develop an effective, low-cost distributed training platform by integrating the traditional sand table with new low cost technologies in image projection and machine vision. These new technologies not only will improve the interactive nature of the sand table, but also enable the networking of multiple tables at once. The resulting enhanced sand table, or ARES, incorporates the best aspects of the traditional platform and enables new possibilities for learning across Army echelons.
