Skillsets / What We Do
Our staff has a wide range of experience and skills which can be deployed to serve our customers. Following are our key skill sets as they relate to Modeling and Simulation.
Terrain Databases and Services
Dignitas personnel offer extensive experience with terrain databases, terrain services, and database generation technologies, often called Synthetic Natural Environments (SNE). Dignitas personnel have, in former lives, lead the initial development of CCTT’s terrain services and played a senior role in ERC development. Dignitas played a critical role in the effort to integrate OneSAF’s ERC into CCTT and AVCATT. Dignitas currently is involved in OneSAF integration into live applications, as well as playing a key role in DVED efforts to build virtual terrain databases. Dignitas has extensive experience with database generation processes and toolsets, such as TerraVista. We have been prime contractor on several Phase I / Phase II SBIRs.
Computer Generated Forces
Dignitas’ broadest experience base is in the area of Computer Generation Forces (CGF) or Semi-Automated Forces (SAF). We have personnel with extensive experience across many SAF systems, especially OneSAF, CCTT SAF, OTBSAF. Several of our engineers can claim significant experience with all three of these, and we also have background with lesser-known CGF implementations including SIMNET SAF.
Dignitas’ CGF experience is not concentrated in a single area. In addition to our extensive SNE core capabilities, Dignitas personnel have experience spanning C4I behaviors, GUIs, plan view displays, movement control behaviors, simulation management, DIS, HLA, and more. Current CGF-related efforts Dignitas is involved in at this time include live-constructive integration, behaviors development, dynamic terrain, and integration of OneSAF into CCTT and AVCATT.
Live Applications
Dignitas’ live experience includes work on Common Training Instrumentation Architecture (CTIA), Instrumented Ranges / Digital Range Training Systems (IR/DRTS), Homestation Instrumentation Training System (HITS), Marine Corps Instrumentation Training System (MC-ITS), Exportable Training Capability – Instrumentation System (ETC-IS), Live, Virtual, Constructive – Integrating Architecture (LVC-IA) and is an established member of the LT2 community. Dignitas personnel also supported OneTESS development and SBIR research on compact terrain formats suitable for applications such as geo-pairing.
Database Generation
In addition to our key role on the SE Core Database Virtual Environment Development (DVED) effort, Dignitas personnel have played key database generation roles in many programs large (CCTT) and small (Coast Guard). Dignitas personnel can claim database generation experience spanning multiple COTS toolsets (TerraVista, Mutigen, ArcGIS) and major GOTS applications (U2MG, SOFViz). One of our greatest database generation strengths is our system level knowledge which gives us a strong ability to recognize potential functional or correlation issues that may be encountered.
Dignitas personnel have expertise in all aspects of synthetic database generation including requirement interpretation, source data gathering/cleaning/correction, texture and model creation, SME review, and customer integration, test and acceptance.
