Dignitas demonstrates Mobile Application to support Live training / News & Events
August 17, 2011
Dignitas Technologies joined Riptide at the 2nd Annual Training Support System (TSS) Workshop
in Dallas, TX to demonstrate an innovative use of a mobile device to support small arms live
fire training and range maintenance. This effort included the adoption of the Targetry Range
Automated Control and Recording (TRACR) program and FASIT Low Bandwidth ICD into a thin
client mobile application. The resulting TRACR Ultra Lite (TUL) app runs on a Android 3.0 tablet
and allows training facilitators at the live fire ranges to control range targets/devices and
receive training results and targets/device status without the need to rely on personnel
in a range tower. The TUL capability is a joint technology transfer venture between RDECOM
ARL-STTC and PM TRADE. This effort is part of a SBIR Phase III program. The TUL application
was well received by the range community at the TSS Workshop, with multiple inquiries for
immediate deployment.
